Our Class of 2025 graduates averaged 35 points in the IB Diploma Programme. The global average? 30.58. And that gap tells a story.
Over the past twenty years, we've refined how we support students at Haut-Lac International Bilingual School so each one gets what they need to succeed.
Their 100% pass rate speaks for itself, but our approach looks at more than that.
From IB World School to 45-Point Achievement
Haut-Lac International Bilingual School became an IB World School in 2002 with the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP). We wanted to give students aged 11-16 the critical thinking skills and international perspective that would prepare them for what came next.
Three years later, we added the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). Students now had a clear pathway from the IBMYP through to university, and the results spoke for themselves. Year after year, our graduates exceeded global averages and secured places at top-tier universities in Switzerland and worldwide.
By 2021, we realised that not every student was looking for a purely academic route. The IB Career-related Programme (IBCP) arrived that year as a way to blend academic study with hands-on, career-focused training.
Then came 2024, when Haut-Lac's top IBDP grade reached the perfect score of 45 out of 45 points. Another great sign for us and proof that rigorous academics, genuine support and high student motivation can produce exceptional results. And inspire the students who follow.
Personalised Learning at an IB World School
The International Baccalaureate (IB) high school programmes at Haut-Lac span 30+ subject combinations in English and French. Students choose subjects that match their interests and ambitions, so as to create a learning experience that feels personal and achievable rather than prescribed.
Our Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diplomas in English and French add an extra challenge. But a challenge that harnesses their enhanced communication skills to open even more doors. When you can think, write and debate in two languages, the world becomes smaller and your options expand.
Just ask 45% of our Class of 2025 graduates. They finished high school with a bilingual or an advanced bilingual diploma and are now studying at Swiss and international universities of their choice.
Effective Student Support and Mentorship
Behind every strong IB result is a teacher who knows when a student needs encouragement, clarification, or a different approach entirely. Our educators provide tutorials, study sessions and one-on-one mentoring because they're invested in each student's success, not simply because it's required.
Our university guidance team also works alongside secondary students to help them identify universities that fit their goals and craft applications that stand out. Some of our graduates actually got in touch recently with updates on their life and studies at institutions like the EPFL in Switzerland, the University of Cambridge in the UK, MIT in the US and other universities of their choice worldwide.
What matters most is that they end up somewhere they genuinely want to be, and somewhere they can use their particular skills to thrive.
All-Round 100% Pass Rate for the Class of 2025
For over twenty years, Haut-Lac students have regularly exceeded global IB averages.
The Class of 2025 has successfully carried that tradition forward with 100% pass rates in both the IBDP and the IBCP. These numbers reflect consistent effort, expert teaching, and a school culture where academic rigour feels achievable rather than intimidating.
And, as a testament to our true bilingual nature, 25% of them are now pursuing higher education studies in Switzerland.
The Future of IB Education at Haut-Lac
As we look ahead, our focus remains the same. We want to prepare students who are confident, capable, and ready for whatever comes next. Whether they're headed to university, about to take a gap year, or ready to pursue creative and entrepreneurial paths, Haut-Lac graduates leave with the skills and mindset to thrive.
The IB programmes at Haut-Lac School have evolved over two decades, but the core hasn't changed. We're here to help young people discover what they're capable of and give them every tool to get there.
